Simple Ways to Teach Your Children the Bible

Simple Ways to Teach Your Children the Bible

Making time to teach your children the Bible can be a challenge. But so can finding ways to do it in a manner that will help them understand it.

Sometimes we just need to be equipped in order to teach the Bible to our children. In what ways can we do this throughout the day?

Here are a few suggestions...

1. Take 5 minutes at breakfast, lunch, or dinner to read aloud from a children's Bible.
During or right after meals works well because you're all already gathered in one place and actively occupied with an activity that cuts down on squabble.

2. Listen to an audio version of a children's Bible in the car. You can keep it in the car, and listen to one or two tracks while driving and then discuss the passage afterward.

3. Learn one song from a Seeds Family Worship album per month. The Seeds albums are great because the song lyrics are unadulterated Bible verses - nothing else. Once you know the words to a song, you know a new Bible verse. And the tunes are catchy and not annoying.

4. Use Bible verse coloring pages for coloring time. Most kids love to color. Printing coloring pages that feature Bible verses is practical and can be a jumping off point for discussion about the Scriptures. Colored pictures can be hung on the wall or fridge for ongoing reference, till a new page gets colored.

Bible Verse Coloring pages are great for children and adults! What a perfect when to spend time with your children learning God's word and just being together!

5. Incorporate theme-related verses into your daily household activities and chores Such as "clothe yourself with Christ" (Rom 13:14) when dressing for the day, or "create in me a clean heart" (Ps 51:10) when tidying up a room.

6. Spend time going through a simple Children's Bible Study. The Dig for Kids is a simple and easy way for parents to study through books of the Bible with their children. It is a great resource for parents because it makes teaching children the Bible simple, fun, and interactive! Now your children can study the book of Proverbs!

A great way to help your children learn how to control their tongue is by reading what the Bible says about it. Sometimes us mama's need to learn this lesson, too, so it's a win-win!

All of the resources I mentioned above are included in a really great bundle of resources called the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle. Every year I LOVE to share the UHB with you because it is packed full of fantastic resources. Every year a fabulous team of people gather the best resources available for us and bundle them up into the best deal we can find!

The bundle has 106 products (including 21 eCourses, 50 eBooks, 14 printables and more!) to help you:

Teaching our children the Bible doesn't have to be overly complicated. Honestly, the most important thing is to be consistent and intentional. I hope these tips have been helpful and give you a bit of encouragement and confidence that you CAN teach your children the Bible.

Many Blessings,
