Warm Up Your Winter with Healthy & Savory Soups

Warm Up Your Winter with Healthy & Savory Soups

Winter is the perfect time to cozy up to a big bowl of savory soup! That’s why you’ll find a tasty new soup recipe in my wintertime weekly meal plans.

There’s just nothing better on chilly nights than a comforting bowl of soup to warm the tummy and the heart. Plus, I love the fact that soup is one of the easiest meals to make, and it always tastes better the next day! (A great reason to double-it-up and ensure there’s enough leftovers for lunch, or another night’s dinner!)

Of course, the secret to incredibly flavorful and healthy soup is homemade bone broth. Not only is homemade broth far superior in flavor to any boxed or canned stock on the market, it’s much more nutritious too!

Ready to dive-in to a delicious bowl of hearty soup? Here are a few of our favorite healthy whole food soups. These savory favorites are satisfying on their own, or for an even heartier meal, simple pair them with a big green salad and your favorite crusty bread or a baked potato. Yum!

Savory Sausage & White Bean Soup

Savory Sausage & White Bean Soup: The combination of slightly sweet and spicy Italian sausage paired with mild white beans and peppery greens creates an incredibly delicious and satisfying meal the whole family will love!

Rustic Veggie Soup

Rustic Veggie Soup is a colorful rainbow of healthy, savory flavor. This simply scrumptious meal makes it easy to enjoy your veggies, especially when you toss in some leftover roast chicken, pulled pork, or spicy grilled shrimp. Mmm, Mmm, good!

Creamy Chicken {or Turkey} Soup

Creamy Chicken {or Turkey} Soup is chock full of flavorful veggies nestled in a savory dairy-free creamy soup base! The secret is to this soup is simply blending part of the broth and veggies to create an amazingly creamy soup everyone will love!

Slow Cooker Chili Times Two!

Slow Cooker Turkey Veggie Chili: This easy and flavorful chili is a standout! Its rich, robust flavor makes a hearty, satisfying meal the whole family will love. We love to serve this tasty chili over basmati rice, and don’t forget the cornbread!

Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Chili: This bean-free chili is so rich in flavor and texture, you’ll never miss “the magical fruit.” The combination of a spicy, meaty tomato sauce paired with the subtle sweetness of creamy sweet potatoes and an assortment of veggies creates an absolutely incredible chili full of hearty flavors!

Chicken Zoodle Pho

Chicken Zoodle Pho: Once you’ve tasted the delight found in a bowl of Pho, it’s hard not to crave this flavorful bowl of broth packed with delicious and nutritious accompaniments. Use zoodles to make it grain-free and up the veggie ante, or use traditional rice noodles – either way, it’s amazing!

Slow Cooker Stone Soup – Kid Favorite!

Slow Cooker Stone Soup is a super fun way to get your kids in the kitchen with you, and potentially (I’m not making any promises, here) eat their veggies too! This recipe is an old treasure and was inspired by the classic children’s book, Stone Soup. Definitely a delicious tale come to life!

Roasted Chicken Chili

Roasted Chicken Chili: We love us some good chili and this recipe is a tried-n-true favorite! It’s especially great for making use of leftover roasted chicken, or cooked chicken meat from making your own homemade stock. (You can also use leftover roasted turkey as well!)

Creamy Pumpkin Soup with Crispy Bacon Bits

Creamy Pumpkin Soup with Crispy Bacon Bits: This dairy-free creamy soup combines the subtle sweetness of pumpkin with the savory bold flavors of bacon, onion, sage and thyme with just a hint of spicy ginger. It’shard to describe how incredibly wonderful this soup is … suffice it to say, it’s absolutely delicious!

Made with Love Chicken Zoodle Soup

Chicken Zoodle Soup is a delicious grain-free variation on a classic favorite. Whether you opt to use zucchini noodles or rice noodles, nothing says nourishing like a nice hot bowl of homemade chicken soup made with love.
