Hi, friend!

Hi friend! I am so glad you have stopped by the site. We have such a wonderful community of moms here and we would LOVE for you to join us as we share life and learn together!

{A Fresh, Simple & Affordable} Laundry Room Makeover

{A Fresh, Simple & Affordable} Laundry Room Makeover

As I mentioned on Instagram the other day, I've been a little quiet around here because we moved at the end of August. The sad truth is that it takes me a few months to recover after something like that (and all the people who have moved in the last six months shout an AMEN). PHEW! The good news is that we are finally feeling settled in and I can't wait to give you a peek into our home! My first reveal is a simple and affordable laundry room makeover!

I'm pretty excited about this room for four reasons.

1. I do laundry constantly and a cute laundry room just makes me feel better about that.

2. My washer and dryer are amazing. (I'll give you a sneak peek today, but tomorrow I will tell you ALL about them)

3. I love the color on the walls.

4. It was so cheap and I love a good deal!

So let's get started! Below is the blank slate. Nothing too exciting. Just a plain white laundry room with vinyl flooring and a laundry tub.

I wanted a really fresh color that would make me smile when I walked into the room. I found the perfect color in Sherwin Williams Tame Teal.

With just moving into our home, I had so many rooms to do that it was very important to me to spend as little as possible on this makeover. I was thrilled with all the good deals I found! It took a bit of hunting to find everything, but it was so worth it!

I chose vinyl floor in the Laundry Room when we were building our home because that is what came standard. I wasn't too fond of it, but I knew that a small rug could remedy that! Look what I found at Ikea for only $14.99!! Score!

Also, at Ikea I found the PERFECT drying rack that folds flat on the wall when not in use. I am always hanging clothes that can't be put in the dryer. Now instead of using doorknobs and my shower curtain rod, I use my drying rack every day! Worth every bit of the $19.99!

The window is pretty small, but alas...I have a window in my laundry room! Yay! So I wanted something simple with a touch of elegance. This Roman Shade was only $19.99 at At Home

I found this LAUNDRY sign at World Market. I really liked that it had knobs to hang other clothes that need to be air dried. (only $19.99). Also, I am kind of loving chalkboards right now. This chalkboard from Hobby Lobby was $24.99 and it helps us keep the laundry days organized. (that is assuming we follow it ;))

You guys. I knew moving into this home that we would need a new washer and dryer. I was thrilled when LG agreed to partner with me in trying out their new LG TwinWash System. I had no idea I was about to meet the most amazing appliances. I can't wait to share more with you tomorrow, but for now here is a snapshot of the beauties.

Yes, that is two washers in one. Incredible.

The wall space from the top of the LG TwinWash System to the ceiling was somewhat awkward to fill so I did two things that filled the space nicely. First, these baskets from Hobby Lobby are perfect on top of the washer and dryer. They were only $9.99 each and I use one for the Laundry Detergent, Stain Remover and Softener and the other for all of those socks that seem to lose their match in the dryer! (where do they go?!)

Secondly, I added a small shelf from Home Depot on the wall with a few antique jars filled with powder detergent and clothes pins (thanks to my friend Nikki for the idea!), as well as a few other decor items. It adds a nice touch to an otherwise bare wall.

Adding a new light fixture is a simple way to freshen up a room, but I didn't want to spend very much. This simple light fixture was only $7.99 (yes you read that right) from Ikea.

It took a bit of searching for the perfect additions to the room at an affordable price, but I LOVE how it all came together. I am no professional designer. If I can do it, you can too!

It seems as if the laundry room is the last room we decorate (if we ever get to it) because, well, there are just so many other things to do. But let's be real...we spend SO much time there as moms. Why not give it a fresh look and feel a little better about all the time you spend there? :)

That's a look into my laundry room! Be sure to check in tomorrow...I can't wait to show you my washer and dryer! (ummm that may be the true sign that you are a mom in the thick of it...when you get excited about showing someone your washer and dryer)

Many Blessings,
