Hi, friend!

Hi friend! I am so glad you have stopped by the site. We have such a wonderful community of moms here and we would LOVE for you to join us as we share life and learn together!

Verses For The Weary Mom

Mom, are you weary? Bone tired? Feeling that end of the school year lull and just doing all you can to not fall apart? We've been weary too. Our God knew we would struggle, and he offers rest and hope that we can cling to on days just like this. Let…

I've been writing for The Better Mom for nearly two years. Usually at this point in the month, I have been brewing and stewing over my post for weeks, perfecting the words while I wash the dishes and scoop up Legos.

But not this month.

This month, I am weary.  My kids - bless their energetic little souls - are bundles of voracious energy, begging me to "watch this" and "look at this, Mommy," and "Mom, come find me," and "let's play it again, Mommy."

And their lame old mom, puddle of listlessness and wet dishrag of energy. (And the ever-present question: are naps okay??)

It's not that I don't love my life. I do. But call it the hormones, or the over a year without a full night's sleep, or the monotony of the mixed-bag homeschool year - whatever the reason, it matters not.

I. Am. Weary.

I am weary.

Join me as we remind ourselves, as we lift our weary heads and give Him our ragged hearts. Let us hear His voice today, oh, mamas who need Him, too. For really, to whom shall we go? He has the words of eternal life.

He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. {Isaiah 40:11)

I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. {Philippians 4:12-13}

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. {Isaiah 40:29-30}

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. {Psalm 121:1-2}

Come to me, all you who are weak and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. {Matthew 11:28}

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. {Galatians 6:9}

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  {2 Corinthians 4:16}

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! {Philippians 4:4}

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power, and love, and self-discipline. {2 Timothy 1:7}

Now unto him who is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish in exceeding joy, to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and power, before all time, and now, and for evermore. Amen. {Jude 1:24-25}

Dear God, I pray for all of us mommies who are bone-tired and soul-weary. Let us not confuse our strength with yours. Thank you that when we are weak, it is the best place to be, because then we see that You are strong. We need you, Lord Jesus - to love our families, to lift our spirits, to keep on doing good without becoming weary. Be our strength today. Amen.
