The Sweetest Little Book for Christmas
There are so many things we want to teach our children as they grow. We want them to be kind, to love others, to make wise choices, and to know how deeply they are loved. But as a mom, one of the things that has always mattered most to me is helping my children know and love Jesus.
And I believe that starts long before they're old enough to understand everything about faith.
It starts in the little moments. The bedtime prayers. The Bible stories read together on the couch. The conversations in the car. The simple reminders throughout the day that God loves them and has a wonderful purpose for their lives.
Those moments may seem small, but they're doing something so important. They're helping lay a foundation of faith that can last a lifetime. That's why I love finding resources that help parents introduce their little ones to Jesus in ways they can understand. And today, I want to share the sweetest little board book with you!
It's called Good News Children! The Gospel for Toddlers, and it's an adorable Christian board book designed especially for children ages one and up.
What makes this little book so special is that it doesn't just tell one Bible story. It introduces children to the beautiful, bigger story of the gospel.
From God's promise to send a Savior, to the birth and life of Jesus, His love for people, His death on the cross, and His resurrection, this book walks little ones through the Good News of Jesus in a way that's simple, gentle, and full of hope. And isn't that exactly what we want our children to grow up knowing?
That Jesus loves them. That He came to save them. And that through Him, they can have a relationship with God.
One of my favorite things about this book is how thoughtfully the message is shared. The author has taken some of the most important truths of our Christian faith and made them accessible to even the youngest hearts. The language is playful and easy to follow, and the illustrations are colorful and engaging. It's the kind of book that makes sharing the gospel feel like a natural part of story time. And I love that!
Little Moments That Make a Big Difference
If there's one thing I've learned through the years of raising my four children, it's that we don't have to make teaching our kids about Jesus complicated. Sometimes I think we put so much pressure on ourselves as moms to do everything just right. We imagine that building a strong spiritual foundation requires perfectly planned family devotions, long conversations, or having all the answers to our children's questions. But so often, it's the simple, consistent things that make the biggest difference.
Reading a book together. Praying before bed. Talking about God's goodness as we go about our day. It's in those ordinary moments that we're planting seeds of truth in our children's hearts.
And while we can't make our children believe, we can faithfully introduce them to the One who loves them more than we ever could.
That's what makes a little book like Good News Children! such a meaningful addition to a family's bookshelf. It's more than just another story to read. It's an opportunity to begin conversations about Jesus, His love, and what it means to follow Him.
A Meaningful Little Christmas Gift
With Christmas right around the corner, I also think this would make such a sweet gift for the little ones in your life. Whether you're shopping for your own children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or a special little one you love, I always think the most meaningful gifts are the ones that give something beyond the moment.
And what better gift could we give than helping a child begin to understand the love of Jesus?
I especially love the idea of tucking this into a Christmas stocking, pairing it with a cozy blanket for bedtime stories, or giving it to a new mom who wants to begin building rhythms of faith with her little one.
It's sweet, simple, and filled with the greatest story ever told. And in a season when we're celebrating the birth of Jesus, it's a beautiful reminder of why He came.
If you're looking for a thoughtful little gift this Christmas, or simply a new book to add to your family's story time, I think you'll love Good News Children! The Gospel for Toddlers.
Because it's never too early to begin telling our children about the God who made them, loves them, and sent His Son for them. And those little moments of sharing the Good News? They just might make an eternal difference.
XO,
Ruth 🤍
