Hi, friend!

Hi friend! I am so glad you have stopped by the site. We have such a wonderful community of moms here and we would LOVE for you to join us as we share life and learn together!

For Moms Who Can’t Lock Themselves in the Bathroom

First let me say that it IS okay to lock yourself in the bathroom (maybe with a Snickers bar as well :) ) when you feel you just need a few minutes to clear your head, and talk to Jesus.

We can't always find time, though, for this common mother trick.

We know, we know, we know, and we hear, we hear, we hear, that in the midst of all that we juggle in this life our first priority needs to be the Lord and spending time in His Word.

We all live in the real world though, and despite our best efforts there will be days when everything that can happen, will. I hate that dry and weary feeling. It's the feeling that I'm lost in the middle of the wilderness with my babies and we need something more, something to bring more clarity and joy to our day.

We must have God's Word to survive. And on an upside-down-day we feel like we're starving.

So, there it is. Despite our best plans and well-planned days, life happens in abundance. You and I need our grace days, Momma. We need to drink in the Lord's mercy when the trash can overflows and the counter has been lost under the dishes. We can have our systems, charts, and schemes, and in various seasons those may work well. It's this overflowing life itself, with the twists and turns that we don't foresee, that reaches beyond our capacity and leaves us in need of more of Him.

And isn't that where Jesus wants us?

Should that not be the very best place?

Completely aware that no matter our calculations, we can't do this without Him?

Here are a few thoughts for days when you'd loved to be a Mary, but you know you're being Martha.

Start Here: This is my post on Creative Ways to Get More Jesus in Your Day. Several of the applications in this post are from that article. It's full of quick and simple ideas to infuse your home with Christ.

Creative Ways to Get More Jesus in Your Day

Beauty.

Find beauty. It's there, but you may have to think creatively to find it. Leave a notebook on the kitchen table and jot down the beautiful things as you see them.  At the end of the day you'll be amazed at how the Lord showered His love on you.

Rejoicing.

Think on rejoicing. You know, I'm really big on meditating on God's Word. And though I certainly don't get everything right, I see a huge difference in the days when I'm actively thinking on His Word versus those when I let my mind get lazy.

"Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."

Dry Erase Board

Run to a dry erase board. This works well for me; I'm a list-maker, box-checker kind of girl. Even with our daily schedule routine, we have different dynamics each day.  This is, after all, life.  Most days, but especially on days when I'm trying to get my act together, I make a list for each family member on the dry erase board.  Don't be in bondage to the dry erase board, use it to organize your thoughts and necessities for days when you feel like you're winging it.

What are your thoughts and tips for moms who may be in the middle of the struggle and desperately trying to get their act together?
