It’s Not a Game…

It's Not a Game...

If I post about parenting–  but ignore my child’s needs…

If I tweet about marriage–  but am too tired for intimacy…

If my Facebook status is for friendship–  but I’m too busy for my friends…

If I text about service–  but do not respond when my neighbor’s need is clear…

If I Pinterest-pin verses–  but don’t actually read my Bible…

If I say “I will pray”– but forget to follow through…

If I speak about love–  but fail to love in action…

If I– fail to love in daily-real-in-the-flesh-life?

Oh it’s not a game.
Let me live the walk I talk.

For little eyes are watching to see what truly captures my heart.

“…let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” ~1 John 3:18

With Love,

Oh Kara! Thank you SO much for this timely reminder! I am an older woman (I think 50 can be considered older! lol) and often my heart breaks as I see my young mom friends hand their child a phone app (to keep them occupied and quiet while they are online, texting or otherwise engaged with electronics.) I want to shout that they are missing it! This real life that God has gifted to them. “If I– fail to love in daily-real-in-the-flesh-life?”

That life takes TIME moms. Listening that is not interrupted by chiming phones, or texts, or games. Touching, hugging, loving…every day! Whether we like it or not, it is true…

“For little eyes are watching to see what truly captures my heart.

It’s a constant battle…I need regular conviction because it’s just the norm anymore…and it’s also the easiest default. But at such a HUGE cost…
Thanks so much for the encouragement Shelly.

This hit it right where it needed too; straight to the heart. I have been drawing back from social media and trying to analyze my time and do the best of the items on my list Thanks for the reminder and blessings to you!

That’s such a good perspective…using time intentionally. I know social media can be a blessing too…and I am thankful for many things about it…but for me, the illusion it can create, unless we’re careful to live our faith in front of those who really know us, can be dangerous. And similar to what yo mentioned above…I wonder from time to time how much we MISS if we’re not careful…

Convicting post! My nose is bleeding – I needed a good smack in the face! (Prov 27:6) Thank you, sweet sister, for reminding us of what life is really about and our calling as women, moms, wives … less talk and more action in loving those the Lord has blessed us with! Love to you and blessings for a Happy New Year!
