The Greatest New Year Promises

Bible believing Christ-centered Worldviewphoto credit

When I was younger I used to love the thought of a New Year, oh the possibilities.  What exciting things were going to happen?  Where would I travel?  Who would I meet?

On and on my thoughts would run with all that could take place and all the great things the New Year would hold!

I will admit as I get older and have seen my share of trials, I often let negative thoughts fill my head.

Who will lose a job this year?

I hope no one gets sick!

Will someone die?

What will happen in the country?

After losing our first parent 5 yrs ago now (my mom in law) right at the New Year thoughts like these creep in and they can be hard to turn off.  Sometimes I can get myself worked up almost to a panic attack of things that may or may not happen.

God has been speaking to my heart even more about TRUST!  HE never promised me a life with no sorrow, trials or even death.  BUT he does promise me many things, here are just a few:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  2 Corinthians 12:9

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus".   Phillipians 4:19.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.  John 10:27-28

If you struggle with worry or anxiety I would encourage you to find the verses of God's promises to YOU!  Tape them on your mirror and around your house, memorize the scriptures so you have them wherever you are, and/or carry them in your purse in a spiral index notebook.  Remind yourself that these are not just words in a book they are words to YOU from an all knowing loving God and HE is walking through life with you!

These are promises you and I can take into the New Year regardless of what it holds.

Blessings,

Angela
