Hi, friend!

Hi friend! I am so glad you have stopped by the site. We have such a wonderful community of moms here and we would LOVE for you to join us as we share life and learn together!

Arise . . . A Prayer for Moms

Moms, Its time. Time to storm the gates of heaven, to do battle for our children, time to get on our knees. We want you to become a part of a movement of mothers praying fervently for their families today, and we'd love to give you a printable guide…

Arise

It’s a word we don’t speak much in our culture. It’s dated. Maybe too formal? In my opinion, we’ve wimped out with our vocabulary, using expressions like “get up” and “it’s time to move.” But then again, you and I have so easily forgotten that we’re in the middle of a battle in which we should quickly, purposefully, and powerfully respond to the call to action.

What battle, you might ask? What action must we take?

Sisters, we are in the midst of spiritual battle for our children and our families.

This battle doesn’t require firearms and fatigues (although we might feel fatigued). But it does demand swords and shields (Ephesians 6:10-20). We are commanded in Scripture to take up our sword — the Word of God which is alive and powerful — along with the shield of faith to extinguish the fiery darts the enemy will send our way. Oh friends, this is not just figurative language we find in the best book ever written. It’s is Truth upon which we should build our lives. It is Truth we should embrace as moms on behalf of those who’ve been put in our charged by the God of Universe.

So, my friend, will you ARISE today?

Will you answer the battlecry and commit to praying for your children while seeking to raise them in a home in which the Word is Truth and Christ is preeminent?

Oh, yes, this will take work, perseverance, sacrifice my friend. It will require a lot of “Nos” to things our children want and the culture promotes as necessities. It will require so many “yeses” to things that we must fight for — like making time to sit around the dinner table together so that we can talk about the day and filter it through the lens of Scripture.

Sister, this is our holy ground . . . in our homes . . . where God gives us permission to go to battle for our children and their fathers each and every day.

Arise, my friend.

Make the morning your sacred time. Before any other feet hit the ground, may yours leap out of bed to meet with the Lord, to give Him your day, to lay before Him your worries, and most purposefully, to intercede for your children (let this or this inspire you). This time, so often attacked by the enemy, is where we will get our marching orders and give our children what they need most — a mom who is wholly connected to her Savior and answering the battlecry for her children.

Arise.

Will you pause for a moment and join me in this prayer . . .

Arise . . . A Battlecry Prayer for Moms

Heavenly Father, we come before you as your daughters asking you to equip us as moms to ARISE.

We long to be strong in You and feel the fullness of Your mighty power at work in us. Please cause us to ARISE each morning with humble boldness, determined to put on the full armor of God, that we might take our stand against the devil’s schemes. Lord, remind us that the struggle is not again flesh and blood. . . the whiny, whim-driven emotions of our tots or the independent streak of our eye-rolling of our teens . . . our forgetful, worn-down spouse. . . or the unreasonable expectations of others.  Lord, our battle is against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Open our eyes to see this battle and to fight with the weapons you give us.

Motivate us to put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, we may be able to stand our ground, and after we have done everything, to stand. Yes, Lord, we want to stand firm on behalf of our families — for the sake of our children. Show us how to put on the belt of truth and fully buckle it around our waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place. Fit our feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. O Jesus, you are our peace. Fill us with your presence.

Show us, God, how to take up our shield of faith, with which we can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Forgive us for our unbelief. Increase our faith, O Lord! Give us the desire to take upon us the helmet of salvation — yes, give us a bad hair day if we need that to remind us of this necessity — and may our hands be strong and able to hold the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Lord, may we be a generation of women who pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

May we be always mindful of the gift of prayer and power of it — always alert and always keeping on praying for all the Lord’s people, especially our children and their fathers. Together, Lord, may we be women —moms — who will only speak the words you give to us and fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which we count it an honor to be your ambassador in chains. May we declare it fearlessly, as we should.

May we arise to this battlecry.
